Remembering Dr. Nathan Rubin

My father, Dr. Nathan Rubin, started this practice long before I had my eyes on dentistry. He became interested in dentistry when he worked as a dental lab tech in the US Navy during WWII. That motivated him to go to college and dental school when he finished his tour of duty in the Navy. He completed his BA at City University and then went on to NYU dental school and NYU’s specialty program in Orthodontics.

I joined my father part time while I started my own practice. We then merged the two practices in 2004 in its present location at 833 Central Ave. My father continued to practice will into his 80’s. When he stopped seeing patients, then he worked in the lab making retainers until age 92! Not having my father here has left a void in the practice and in my life. His honesty and integrity as well as his dedication to his field were a great inspiration for me. I learned much from him and hope to live up to his high standards. May his memory be inspiration for us to strive higher.
